That option is cloud storage and it will be safe and protected with you and you can access it anywhere you go provided you should have a good internet connection. In many cases, professionals have 2-3 backups secured in different locations so as to make sure they will not lose any of their important data.
External Drive Storage
As far as file backup is concerned, all you need to do is follow below steps:
- Take an external drive and connect it to the computer. Then in Windows 10, go to System and then in Settings.
- After clicking on the Settings, it will show Update and Security.
- In drop down menu of Update and Security, click on the back up and then add the external drive, which you have connected to the computer and make the back up.
You can set a particular drive for your backup, let’s say you have different drives for different purposes and you can also select a drive to default, so when you connect it with the system, Windows 10 will automatically generate backup to your default drive and you can easily update it time to time. Not only this, you can command the system to take out old backups and generate new ones in case the drive gets full.
Another way as mentioned above is to sign in to your cloud storage account. These days many companies offer more storage space for backups and other tasks, usually 5GB to 15GB of free storage is provided. All you need to do is enable the ‘file sync’ from the computer to cloud storage account and the systems will automatically synchronize your files to the cloud storage. This makes the work of backup less worrying and hassle free, and also, it loses the burden on your pocket i.e. not to buy expensive hard drives. Many companies such as Microsoft one drive, drop box, Google drive, etc. provide online storage facility.
