Go to start and type CMD

This will open the command prompt window

If your computer is communicating with your router properly, then the moment you press enter after typing IP address, it would ask you for username and password. Usually, the default username and password is admin, but if you have used some other name for your router and the password, type in that information. If you are unable to open the page, there is a possibility that the router address have been fed manually in your network adapter settings. To check:-

Go to Control Panel

Under Network and Sharing centre, you can view “Network Connections”

Right click on the Ethernet adapter and click on properties

On the Ethernet properties window, look for Internet Protocol Version 4 and double click it

On the new window, ensure that “Obtain IP Address Automatically” and “Obtain DNS Server Automatically” is selected.

Close all the windows and try opening the IP address again in the address bar

Once you have entered the information, you will land up on the setup page of your router, which would have different information fields where you can enter information you wish to change. If you are still unable to open the page, try and turn of all the firewalls and antivirus on your system

Alternatively, if you are too jittery about doing such thing on your own, then you can call your ISP and call for a network administrator to visit and make changes or take online tech support help.
