MS Windows is the most commonly used operating system across the globe. This is because, Microsoft provided library of applications to help you get most of your computer or mobile handsets. Microsoft after every two years releases their new version of Windows. If you have recently updated your operating system to Windows 8, then you should know about some features as Microsoft has made significant changes to how you find and work with the software.
MS Windows 8 is designed especially for touch users, thereby providing them easy access to various applications that are used more frequently. If you have been using windows 7 or low, you might find this version a little difficult to understand at first. But when you get familiar with the operating system, you would understand how easy it is to use and have more fun using it.
New Feature with Windows 8
After you have installed the operating system, make sure you connect to the internet and get all the latest updates from Microsoft. Make sure you install all the latest versions of the windows update files. In order to do so, in the search bar, type Windows update tool. Here you can download and install all important updates for your computer. You should restart the system, after installing updates. If you keep your Windows up to date, you are less likely to have problems with your computer.
New Look of your Start Screen
This version of windows has a complete new look to their start screen. Now you can view all the programs and software in a tile format. Just one click now you can get directly into a program making it easy to use and find. Also, the background and tiles are in different colours making it eye catchy and beautiful to see. You can easily move your tiles in the order you use the programs.
Work with Applications
There are three ways through which you can work within applications:-
- Click on the upper left hand corner of the screen
- Press Alt + Tab on the keyboard
- If you are using a touch pad or a windows phone, then swipe your finger from left to right
You can easily work on multiple programs simultaneously with two applications on the windows screen. While one application is tied on the left of the screen, the other application fills the entire screen. However, if you are using a smaller screen, then you might not be able to use this feature. It requires a width of 1366 pixels to allow display of two applications side by side.
If you have been using your old operating system for a long time, then it is time to upgrade it to windows 8. Only once you install it, you would realise the difference between the two. However, run a compatibility test of your system to see if you meet the minimum requirements to install the update. For the new loaded features, it is important that you have all the required hardware so that you can work on your system without any problems.
