How To Resolve The Startup Windows Script Host Errors

Method 1. Scan the system by running the System File Checker

  • Press windows key.
  • Type cmd to get the result.
  • Do a right-click on the achieved result and pick the options ‘Run as administrator’.

  • Type sfc /scannow and click on ‘enter’.

Method 2. Get to the default value of .vbs to VBSfile

  • Type regedit and click on ‘Enter’ to reach the Registry Editor.
  • Find the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT folder on the left-hand side and expand it.
  • Find and click on the .vbs folder inside the folder.
  • See the ‘default’ on the right-hand side. Do a double click there and set it to VBSfile.
  • Close the registry editor.

Method 3. Delete everything you find below userinit.exe in the Registry Editor

  • Press Windows and R keys to get the run command.
  • Type regedit and click on ‘Enter’ to reach the Registry Editor.
  • Expand the folder called HKEY_LOCAL_Machine.
  • Then, further expand the folder called SOFTWARE.
  • Then, expand Microsoft folder to reach Windows NT.
  • On expanding Windows NT, you will reach the CurrentVersion folder. Expand it too.
  • Finally, you can now click on the Winlogon.
  • See the right side of the window and remove every entry below the userinit.exe.
