How To Remove All The Built-In Apps In Windows 10
When you get Windows 10 on your laptop or PC, it comes with multiple built-in apps. You require a few of them, but most just fill the precious disk space nothing else. Hence, you need to get rid of them if you want more disk space.
Here, in this article, you will find all the necessary steps to get rid of the built-in apps in Windows 10.
- Use the Refresh Windows Tool
The Refresh Windows Tool is provided by Microsoft for free. It is an app that allows you to get a clean version of Windows 10 on your PC or laptop.
You can download the tool from Microsoft and run it to install the unencumbered version of Windows 10. The catch here is that it removes all the applications except for the core ones. So, it will remove all the apps which you have downloaded as well. Hence, you need to keep a backup of the data before you run the tool. Also, keep the original disks or files of the applications that you want to download again.
- Uninstall manually
Not all, but a few programs can be removed manually. All you need to do is go to the Start menu and find the application that you want to remove. Make a Right Click on the name of the application and select the uninstall option. However, you won’t be able to remove the ones that are part of the Windows. For that, you need to see the next method.
- Use the command line
Using the command line to remove the applications becomes much easier once you know the method. You need to go to the Start Menu first and type the Powershell to reach the Windows PowerShell.
When PowerShell appears on the top of the list, right click on it and select the option called “Run as Administrator”.
In the PowerShell, you can type the following command to remove an app,
Get-AppxPackage *app name* | Remove-AppxPackage
In the place of the *app name*, you need to type the name of the application you want to remove. Here is a list of all the apps and their names you need to type in this command:
- Calculator – calculator
- 3D Builder – 3dbuilder
